SCBWI announces the 12 writers and 5 illustrators to be included in the 2014 Undiscovered Voices Anthology. The finalists were anonymously selected by a panel of editors, art directors and agents.
Undiscovered Voices began in 2006 featuring twelve unpublished and unagented writers, with the goal that at least one might land a book deal. Submissions are anonymously selected by a panel of editors, art directors and agents. In 2012, illustrators were included in the anthology. In 2014, for the first time ever, Undiscovered Voices expanded to include SCBWI members throughout Europe.
Since its first edition, the discovered authors have contracts for over 70 books and many have been shortlisted for high profile awards.
Undiscovered Voices 2014 is available to download for free at: www.undiscoveredvoices.com. Because the anthology is also designed to be a learning tool for up-and-coming children’s writers and artists, quotes from the judges – discussing the merits of each piece – are included at the end of each illustration and extract.
SCBWI British Isles would like to specially thank Working Partners Ltd for the financial support that made this anthology possible.
