Bio:
Susanna Reich is an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction for children and young adults. Her books include Minette's Feast: The Delicious Story of Julia Child and Her Cat (Abrams, 2012), Painting the Wild Frontier: The Art and Adventures of George Catlin (Clarion, 2008), Penelope Bailey Takes the Stage (Marshall Cavendish, 2006), José! Born to Dance (Simon & Schuster, 2005), and Clara Schumann: Piano Virtuoso (Clarion, 1999). She has received the Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award, International Latino Book Award, NCTE Orbis Pictus Honor, ALA Notable, ALA Best Book for Young Adults, School Library Journal Best Book, Scripps Howard Best Book, Kirkus Best Young Adult Book, Booklist Top Ten Arts Book for Youth, and many other honors.
From 2000-2012 Susanna worked at Raab Associates Inc., the nation's leading children's book publicity and marketing agency. She served for many years on the SCBWI Metro New York Steering Committee and is currently Chair of the Children's and Young Adult Authors Committee of PEN American Center and a member of the Board of Trustees.
