Sarah Sullivan

Bio:

Sarah Sullivan is the author of 4 picture books. Her latest, Passing The Music Down (Candlewick 2011), has been nominated for a West Virginia Children's Choice Award and was chosen to represent the state of West Virginia at the National Book Festival. Her 3rd book, Once Upon a Baby Brother (FSG 2010), was included on the Bank Street College Best Books List for 2011-12. Her book, Dear Baby: Letters from Your Big Brother, (Candlewick 2005),was an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award winner. Her first middle grade novel is forthcoming from Candlewick. Her poetry has appeared in Cricket magazine. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children from Vermont College where she was the recipient of the Harcourt Post-Graduate scholarship. She also received an Individual Artist Fellowship/Grant from the West
Virginia Commission on the Arts. Prior to writing for children, Sarah practiced law for fourteen years. Currently, she writes full-time and conducts writing workshops and visiting author programs in schools throughout the country.
