Bio:

Stephanie grew up in Brooklyn, New York and began her professional life as an early childhood teacher, having the pleasure of reading to children and discovering which stories captivate them. She went on to be a children's book editor and Editorial Diretor of Parents Magazine Press. She now speaks to children through her books, which include: DINNER AT THE PANDA PALACE, a PBS Storytime selection; MAY I PET YOUR DOG?, A Horn Book Fanfare choice and an ALA Best Video of 2010; ROSIE, A VISITING DOG'S STORY, which Smithsonian Magazine called "one of the outstanding nonfiction books of the year; THE PRINCIPAL'S NEW CLOTHES, a favorite since publication in 1989; JAZZMATAZZ, which Booklist calls, "a bright, syncopated jam session"; GOOD FOR YOU!, which Kirkus says is "...Joyously exuberant, Calmenson's verses enlighten and entertain"; and LATE FOR SCHOOL! which Booklist describes as a "laugh-and-a-half....Fun for children and teachers alike.".
