Vonnie Winslow Crist

Bio:

Vonnie Winslow Crist, BS Art-Education, MS Professional Writing from Towson University, has been a Maryland State Arts Council Poet for the Artists-in-Education Program for over 10 years. She's also taught creative writing for Harford Community College. Currently, she's writing the "Writers Block" column for "Harford's Heart Magazine," editing "The Gunpowder Review," contributing to "Faerie Magazine," and freelancing. Three of her YA-friendly eShorts ("Sideshow by the Sea," "Assassins," and "Bells") were published by Echelon Press.

Her new YA fantasy novel, "The Enchanted Skean," will be available from Mockingbird Lane Press in early 2013. "The Enchanted Skean" is a coming of age tale set on the world of Lifthrasir. Wisewomen, shape-changers, goblins, mages, sea hags, giants, dragons, and more populate this world where 14-year-old Beck unearths a magical family heirloom and becomes involved in a battle between good and evil.

Her new YA-friendly book, "Owl Light," will be available from Cold Moon Press in early 2013. "Owl Light" is a collection of speculative short stories with a pinch of magical poetry and illustrations tossed in for good measure. Vonnie's 1st fantasy collection, "The Greener Forest," was published by Cold Moon Press in 2011 and is available on Amazon & elsewhere. Also from CMP are 2 of Vonnie's speculative eShorts: "Blame it on the Trees" and "For the Good of the Settlement."
