Lee Harper’s debut in children’s book illustrating, WOOLBUR by Leslie Helakoski, (HarperCollins), was released in January 2008. It was selected as a Book Sense Pick, nominated for the Great Lakes Book Award, Nebraska Golden Sower Award, South Carolina Picture Book Award, Florida Reading Association Honor Book, North Carolina Children’s Book Award, Washington Children’s Choice Award, and the New Hampshire Ladybug Award for picture book of the year. WOOLBUR is currently on it’s 8th printing and was selected for additional printings by the Australia and New Zealand HarperCollins. WOOLBUR has been made into a book on tape, and is being printed in Hebrew!

Lee’s second book, TURKEY TROUBLE, by Wendi Silvano, (Marshall Cavendish), was released on October 2 of 2009.

Lee’s third picture book, and first writer/illustrator project SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! (Simon and Schuster) was released on October 20th, 2009.

Lee recently completed the illustrations for a story by Walter Dean Myers, LOOKING FOR THE EASY LIFE, (Harper Collins) to be published in 2010.

Lee is a Doylestown resident and father of four. Besides illustrating, Lee visits schools and also teaches painting workshops. Lee is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He lives with his wife Krista, his two boys Will and Dan, and his dog Dash in Doylestown, PA.
