Bio:

I have a Master's degree in English from the University of Alabama, and worked for Louisiana State University School of Medicine for many (make that "many, many, many") years, as a writer, editor, graphic designer, and occasional artist known for drawing goofy tigers for the Alumni Office. Now retired from LSU, I continue to work part-time for the LSU Medical Alumni Association in the same capacities, goofy tigers included. I am also editor of THEMA, a theme-based literary journal that has been in existence since 1988. See link to THEMA's website.

My sister-in-law, Gail Howard, and I, under the pseudonym "H. O. Ward," have written two murder mysteries, Death by Unches (Hilliard & Harris, 2003) and Death by the Reel (Hilliard & Harris, 2005). Our sleuth is Dr. Galimatias, a semi-retired, rather untidy general practitioner.

It took over sixty years to happen, but one of my childhood dreams was finally realized in 2008. I illustrated a picture book (Timothy Hubble and the King Cake Party, written by Anita Prieto -- Pelican Publishing, December 2008).
