Bio:
LAUREN STRINGER illustrated her first picture book, Mud, written by Mary Lyn Ray, in 1994. It won a Minnesota Book Award for Illustration, Crayola Kids Best Book of the Year, and an IRA CBC Children’s Choice Award. Stringer’s other illustrated books include: Scarecrow, by Cynthia Rylant, Red Rubber Boot Day, by Mary Lyn Ray, Castles, Caves and Honeycombs, by Linda Ashman, Our Family Tree, by Lisa Westberg Peters, Fold Me A Poem, by Kristine O’Connell George, and Snow, by Cynthia Rylant, 2008. She wrote and illustrated Winter is the Warmest Season, 2006, which was a Booklist Editor’s Choice and a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award. The Princess and Her Panther, written by Wendy Orr, and illustrated by Lauren Stringer, will be published in summer, 2010. She is currently working on several picture book manuscripts of her own as well as beginning the illustrations for Tell Me About Your Day, written by Mem Fox.
