Bio:

As the son of a jazz trumpet player, my family followed Dad's gigs all over the West Coast, including Vegas, San Francisco, Portland, and Hollywood. When of age I joined the Army "to see the world." Luckily it was peacetime and I became a morse-code interceptor (ditty-bopper) in Germany. I got married, then went on to college to become a science librarian at an Oregon university.
Most of my writing was dry scholarly stuff, and later many articles for art magazines(go figure!). I now have a dystopian YA novel published Fall 2010 called "The Blending Time." This is the first book in a trilogy, published by Flux, a YA imprint of Llewellyn. The book was sparked by a trip to SE Africa and meeting Africans from a dozen countries. I now live with my wife in Oregon, and have two grown girls on the West Coast.
