Caroline Hatton was born in Normandy to Vietnamese immigrants and raised in Paris. Since her parents weren’t made of French francs, she could never buy enough books, so she borrowed them from her school library. At age ten, having read all the library books an average of 2.7 times each, she began to write her own, first book. It was in French and it was a lot like the latest library book she had read.
By age sixteen, all this reading had led to a passion for science, so she became a scientist. Yet she never lost sight of her desire to write, so at age forty, she rearranged her life to fulfill it.
Caroline has published children's magazine craft activities, stories, and science articles, and five children's books. See sample pages and activities at www.carolinehatton.com. She loves to speak at schools, libraries, and writer’s conferences.
