Bio:
In 1993 I left my reporting job to pursue an editorial career in children's publishing. Happy with my work but ready for a new challenge, I struck out on my own as a full-time freelance writer-editor and children's book author in 2002.
Over the years I've had editorial input on thousands of published works for a variety of markets (including 200+ children's books). Since authoring my first book in 1997, I've published more than 70 works for young readers.
Recent books include the graphic novels BLACK BEAUTY and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Stone Arch, 2007); the middle-grade nonfiction book PILGRIMS IN AMERICA (Rourke, 2007); the YA self-help book FRENEMIES: DEALING WITH FRIEND DRAMA (Abdo, 2009); and the LET'S BE SOCIAL (Magic Wagon, 2010) picture book series about social groups.
Coming soon: SPACE NEIGHBORS (Child's World), my 10-title picture book series about the solar system!
My current works in progress include a picture book series about the life cycle (under contract for publication in 2012); a humorous picture book; and a YA historical novel.
