Bio:

I live in Oakland, CA with my husband, two kids and a rambunctious pup. I graduated from the California College of Arts & Crafts in graphic design, then taught elementary school until I figured out that teaching art is way more fun than teaching math or giving spelling tests. Now I teach art part time and work in my studio part time, which is a great juxtaposition for me.

I am influenced by folk art from around the world, children and their art, and nature.
Most of my illustrations are done in gouache resist, I am drawn to its graphic black line and infinite surprises.
