Bio:
I grew up in Sweden, a country whose export largely consists of children’s literature. Being immersed in such a story culture had a great impact on me. From early on, Astrid Lindgren was my hero and role model. At age five I already knew that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. (I just didn’t know it would take another thirty-some years to grow up.)
I have sold my stories to a number of children’s magazines, including Highlights for Children, High Five, Spider, Ladybug, Baby Bug, New Moon, Jack and Jill, and Rainbow Rumpus. My first young adult novel, “Swede Dreams,” was published by Penguin in 2007. My non-fiction book about learning to drive was published by Enslow in 2011. I am currently working on a book for and about teens with LGBTQ parents, due out from Scarecrow Press in 2013. I also write for adults; articles for newspapers and magazines, press releases and web content. I write romance stories for a Swedish women's magazine, and I work as a translator.
I have spoken at many schools, libraries, conferences, and other venues. I love connecting with readers and writers - children as well as adults - and always get excited talking about writing.
