Bio:

In college, I majored in my two favorite subjects, reading and drawing, a useful combination for working as teacher, designer, art director, illustrator, author and painter.

I live with my family in Charlotte NC where my "treetop studio" overlooks some of Mother Nature's best work. Exuberant color, shape and movement are elements I aim for in my illustration. Besides book illustration, my art appears in magazines, and on greeting cards and paper partyware.

Eleven trade books bear my name as illustrator, and on the most recent one, THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN NORTH CAROLINA, I am author/illustrator! Clients include Sterling, Simon & Schuster, Random House, Houghton Harcourt, Barnes & Noble, Marshall Cavendish, Albert Whitman, National Geographic School Pubs, Marcel Schurman, Target, American Girl Magazine, High Lights and High Five Magazines, among others.
