John and Ann Hassett

Bio:

For many years John and Ann have lived in an old yellow farmhouse on the coast of Maine. It is a quiet place of trees and fields and saltwater coves. Their house and barn have been home to a cow, a pig, four sheep, a guinea pig, a white rabbit, three dogs, a cat, 23 chickens, three goats, and mice in the walls. They enjoy visiting schools and libraries to read to children when they can. They have two adult daughters who looked very much like the two smallest sisters in their book The Three Silly Girls Grubb when they were small.
John and Ann have been writing and illustrating books for many years, and their books have been recognized with a Parents’ Choice Foundation Picture Book Recommendation, a Bulletin Blue Ribbon, a Booklist Editors’ Choice, a feature in The New York Times Parent’s Guide to the Best Books for Children 3rd edition, numerous starred reviews, placement on several state reading lists, and features in the New York Times Sunday Book Review and U.S. News and World Report.
