Bio:
Brad Strickland, who also writes under the name of Bailey Macdonald, lives near Gainesville in Northeast Georgia. He has written over 65 books, most of them for young adults or younger readers.
Brad, along with his wife Barbara and his longtime collaborator Thomas E. Fuller, wrote many of the books in the series about Wishbone, the literature-loving Jack Russell terrier on PBS. He also took over the series begun by the late John Bellairs and has published many YA mysteries featuring John's characters and settings, most recently The Sign of the Sinister Sorcerer. As Bailey Macdonald, he wrote the historical mystery Wicked Will, about a twelve-year old Will Shakespeare faced with solving a murder in Stratford on Avon. Forthcoming books under his own name include two SF adventures, Flight of the Outcast and Squadron of Shadows, and as Bailey Macdonald, The Secret of the Sealed Room. He was awarded a SCBWI Work-in-Progress grant for the latter, which made possible the historical research he did concerning Colonial Boston.
When he's not writing, Brad teaches English at Gainesville State College in Oakwood, GA. He and his wife Barbara have two grown children, Jonathan--a senior writer for howstuffworks.com--and Amy, a puppeteer for the Puppetry Arts Center in Atlanta.
