Claudia Riiff Finseth

Bio:

I'm a native of Washington State, where I grew up surrounded by rivers, mountains and giant trees. That, and my travels, especially in Ireland, have combined somehow to make the unusual worlds of the fantasy novels I have been writing, The Nithing for middle grade and The Changeling Chronicles for YA.

I've had two stories in Cricket Magazine, The Wimblestone (2005) and Lucia (2002). I love folk traditions, including standing stones.

I'm published in adult non-fiction as well. Scandinavian Folk Patterns for Counted Thread Embroidery is a coffee-table sized, full-color book, and I've written as a guest editorialist for the Tacoma News Tribune and the website Stories1st.com.

I'm a member of both the Western Washington and Oregon SCBWI conferences. Each offers something unique, and I've made some wonderful writing friends through SCBWI. We're not really alone after all!
