Laurette Luff

Bio:

With a BFA in Fine Art from the University of New Mexico and completion of a 4-year course of study in UNM Continuing Education’s Graphic Design certificate programs in print and illustration, Laurette has been creating graphic design and illustration solutions for her clients since 1998, dba Laurel Leaf Designs. Her first career lasted 32 years as a commercial interior designer.

Laurette's graphic design emphasis has been in editorial and advertisement design, with extensive experience in the magazine publication industry, on such publications as the Santa Fean, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, SWAIA Indian Market, Biennial Santa Fe and art director for New Mexico Business Magazine. Currently, her design clients include the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival and New Mexico Kids!, a family magazine, as well as, artists. As a freelance designer, Laurette provides marketing designs for identity packages, postcards, billboards, web promos/banners, merchandise imprints, e-Books, as well as, production and editorial illustrations.

Since 2000, Laurette has been channeling her love of art and books into illustrations for children's literature. Her original art medium is a composite of colored art paper backgrounds with pastel pencil and ink.

As an associate member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, she enjoys planning monthly events as the New Mexico chapter's Illustrator Coordinator, to inspire, educate and provide peer support for aspiring illustrators.

Laurette has published an online poem poster in collaboration with writer, J.R. Poulter, titled: Late Beach Stroll, with sharingbooks.com.
