Bio:

I live on the Gulf Coast in Northwest Florida. Three of my Young Adult novels have been published. They are WINGS (Winner of the 21st Annual Delacorte Press Prize for a First Young Adult Novel), RICOCHET, and IMAGINARY ENEMY (Bronze medalist in the YA Division of the 2008 Florida Book Awards.) YA appeals to me because I have strong memories of that time in my life and enjoy tweens and teens as they struggle to make sense of the world. My stories often emerge from little glimpses of life . . . a child on the beach, a song lyric, a photograph, a salty breeze, or a few words spoken in conversation. I am currently working on a number of projects in various stages of completion.
