Bio:

I have had 30 books published in the last 15 years, mostly for the educational markets. I write biography, geography, nature, history and about other social studies topics. I have also written five historical novels as part of a book club series for children. I have a website www.bonniehinman.com and recently started a blog called http://blownawaybybooks.wordpress.com. It is a blog about all kinds of books to read. The name was inspired by the Joplin, MO, tornado. I was in my day job office working on a final draft of the book that was due the next day when the tornado struck and the building fell down around me. I was trapped under a wall with nothing but minor injuries. I had yanked my flash drive with my book out of my computer before taking cover. It was safely in my jeans pocket. My reference material was blown away but not my book, which I sent two weeks later to my editor.
