Bio:

I'm the published author of numerous novels for children and teenagers, including the time-slip adventures Ghost Boy and the (Arthurian) Shalott trilogy. My latest publications are the award-winning medieval crime series for teenagers, The Janna Mysteries. My new YA novel, A Ring Through Time, is a historical mystery (and romance!) for teenagers, set partly during the cruel and bloody past of the 2nd penal colony on beautiful Norfolk Island. It will be published by Harper Collins in March 2013. I've also won prizes for numerous (adult) short stories including the Queen of Crime award and the KSP award for fantasy fiction. I have many years experience talking about researching and writing my books and also conducting workshops (for adults and children) in a variety of genres. When not slaving over a hot computer, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as surfing, bush walking and snorkeling - and, of course, chocolate is right up there too!
