Bio:

Since Joan began writing for children in 2001, her fiction, non-fiction and poetry has appeared in children's publications such as: AppleSeeds, Cricket, Guideposts for Kids Online, New Moon, YesMag: Canada's Science Magazine for Kids, and Zamoof! It also appears on SIRS/ProQuest educational database, and has been used by the Departments of Education in the states of Minnesota, Nevada and North Carolina. In 2003, Joan received an Honourable Mention in the children's fiction category of Writer's Digest's 72nd annual writing competition. Adult non-fiction pieces have been published by The Institute of Children's Literature, Children’s Book Insider, and The RV Times. Joan has also been a regular contributor to Vancouver & Lower Mainland Senior Living Magazine, Canada, since February, 2008.
