Bio:

I was born in Washington, D.C. and went to nine different schools before I graduated from high school. As the child of a Foreign Service Officer, I spent my junior high years at a missionary-run boarding school in south India, 400 miles from my home in Madras. When I moved to Bombay, I attended an all-girl's school located on the Arabian Sea in a former maharaja's palace.

My middle grade/young adult novel, Evangeline Brown and the Cadillac Motel, was a finalist in the William Faulkner Creative Writing Competition and Grand Prize winner of the Ann Durell Fiction Contest sponsored by Dutton Children's Books, a division of Penguin Group. It was also awarded the Swiss Prix Chronos for the German translation.

Evangeline Brown and the Cadillac Motel is the story of an eleven-year-old girl who struggles to find love as she lives in her father's rundown Florida motel -- a motel that has the embarrassing butt end of a pink Cadillac sticking out of the wall.

My adult writing has been published in several Chicken Soup for the Soul and Cup of Comfort books, in magazines ranging from Baby Talk to Mature Living, and in newspapers such as the Tampa Tribune and the St. Petersburg Times. Under my nickname, Mickey Davis, my writing partner Jim Weiss and I have had over 200 articles and accompanying photographs appear in law enforcement, fire rescue, and other publications.
