Bio:

Most days, I'm busy with research at Unitec Institute of Technology (in Auckland) where I work. Whenever possible, I like to spend time underwater diving in the pristine waters that surround my homeland, New Zealand. I write every day: scientific papers; picture books for children; non-fiction books about the sea; travel guides; inspiration gift books for all. Writing is one of my hobbies - other include spinning and weaving, knitting and crochet; walking; travelling; snorkelling and diving and of course reading. I have three degrees, two kids, one husband and no pets - we're too busy to look after animals!
