Vicky's philosophy is that if you don't gasp, smile or laugh at least once when you're reading about history, you're reading the wrong book.

Her upper MG nonfiction biographies on two ancient heroes--Alexander the Great and Cleopatra--are filled with surprising facts, humorous stories and fascinating adventures. Both are based on primary souce research; the Cleopatra book--CLEOPATRA RULES!--was vetted by four international classicists and archaeologists.

CLEOPATRA RULES was named one of the "Best Books of the Year" for the middle school/Jr. high category by the Kansas State Reading Circle and has been nominated for a Charlotte Award by the
New York State Reading Association.

Her first novel, a YA historical fiction, edited by Cheryl Klein, comes out August 2011 by Arthur A. Levine Books/Scholastic. The novel, CLEOPATRA'S MOON, will come out as an audio book at the same time via Oasis Audio. Foreign rights have also been sold to publishers in Italy and Germany.
