Bio:

Carrie Hartman has illustrated 10 picture books and authored one. She is currently illustrating another picture book while also working on writing several of her own.

Her books have been published by Sterling Publishing, Lerner Publishing, Encyclopedia Britannica, Innovative Kids, Multnomah Publishing, Meredith Publishing, The National Center for Youth Issues and Maren Green Publishing.

Some of Carrie's illustration clients include: HGTV, New York Magazine, Target, Office Depot, The Baltimore Sun, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, St. Louis Magazine, The Hartford Courant, Baxter, ING, American Greetings, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Minnesota State Fair and many others.

Carrie has received multiple awards from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) top award for the best illustrated picture book and recognition from the Educational Press Association.

Carrie works in many areas of illustration; books, editorial, advertising, animated projects, greeting cards, surface design and comic books. Picture books are extra special to her. She enjoys meeting her audience through school events, conferences, and library events. Carrie has given lectures at the MN SCBWI conference, the Hubb Children's Literature Conference at St. Thomas, and the Tri-Metro Art Festival. Carrie is available to speak for schools,K-12, library events, book festivals and professional conferences.
