Bio:

I am a born creative, with an inherent attraction to visual imagination. I possess a never-ending passion for many forms of art. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Communication Design from the University of North Texas, I made a living as a graphic designer and illustrator for design studios and agencies in the DFW area – earning a number of industry awards. It was after 13 years of graphic design that I decided to become an elementary school art teacher. I find purpose and inspiration in teaching: helping children not only learn about art - but to help them discover their inner talents and build their self-worth to become confident, responsible and compassionate adults.

As a passionate illustrator, I draw and paint almost non-stop. I am a watercolorist at heart, but I have also been known to work in mixed media that includes digital media. I am also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and have also taught illustration at the University of Texas in Arlington. My work has appeared in the “Journal of Prothetics and Orthodics,” “Odyssey” (Cobblestone Publishing) and "Red River Kids Magazine."
