Bio:

I write books and articles for children and have a particular interest in and passion for nonfiction. My books are represented by Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency, and my articles have appeared in Odyssey, Faces, Know, Kono, WeeOnes, and ParentMap.

An earlier version of my manuscript for ONE IS ENOUGH, a picture-book biography, was nominated for an “Outstanding Work-in-Progress Award” at SCBWI Western Washington’s 19th Annual Writing and Illustrating for Children Conference in 2010.

My manuscript for YES YOU CAN, a nonfiction how-to for ages 12 and up, was nominated for the Sue Alexander Award at the SCBWI Annual Summer Conference in 2008 and received an “Outstanding Work-in-Progress Award” at SCBWI Western Washington’s 18th Annual Writing and Illustrating for Children Conference in 2009.

I have been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) since 2005 and was co-regional advisor for the SCBWI Western Washington region from 2009-2011.
