Boni lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with her husband and four children.

Boni's first book, Hush, Little Dragon, is a wickedly funny twist on an old lullabye. She has several other books forthcoming— Over At The Castle (also illustrated by Kelly Murphy) will be out in 2010, and I Had A Favorite Dress (Abrams) and Builder Goose: It's Construction Rhyme Time (Sterling), will both be released in 2011.
