Marten Sanden

Bio:

Mårten Sandén, born 1962, started out as a songwriter, writing professionally in Europe and the United States for many years. In the mid 1990’s he decided to try his hand at children’s books as well.
Since 1999, Sandén has published twelve books in his Middle-Grade mystery series, The Petrini Detectives, with more than 200 000 copies sold. The series, featuring Swedish-American twins Peter and Petra Petrini, is a loving update of classic kid’s mysteries, such as The Hardy Boys or Famous Five. Each volume carefully crafted, The Petrini Detectives retain the traditions and charm of the genre, while bringing depth and a more contemporary feel to protagonists and plot.
More recently, Sandén has also written for a Young Adult audience, with considerable success. Novels ”Anna d’Arc” and ”A place they call Happiness” garnered rave reviews and have been translated into Russian, German and Danish respectively. In 2008 ”The Fifth Sister” was nominated for the prestigious August award.

Mårten Sandén lives with wife and children in Stockholm, Sweden. He writes books and songs full time, and to this day has never made proper use of his M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology.
