Bio:

I've always been an artist and writer in a family of artists and writers; my first (so far my only) published poem was completed when I was in the fifth grade. After some time had passed, I started my work career as an editorial assistant in a university publications office, proofreading anthropological abstracts about pot shards, and quickly decided that the office graphic designer was having a better time, so I switched. I've worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and editor for about 25 years and along the way I returned to art school to study painting, which was a hugely enjoyable experience.
Several years ago I began work on writing and illustrating a mid-grade adventure chapter book which has undergone many revisions and is now ready to be sent out again; I'm also working on two picture book projects and learning how to adapt my advertising illustration skills to effective story-telling in the kid's book world. I was recently a co-writer on one of the stories in Three Classic Children's Stories published by Pomegranate Press, and was illustrator of the 2012 picture book Land of Dreams from Australian publisher 40South.
