Bio:
Sue Fliess is a Sr. copywriter for eBay, a marketing professional, freelance writer, and children's book author of numerous picture books: Shoes for Me! (Cavendish)--finalist for SCBWI Crystal Kite, A Dress for Me! (Cavendish), and Tons of Trucks (HMH Children's Books) all available now. She has six picture books in production: Robots, Robots Everywhere (Little Golden Books, 8/13), A Gluten-free Birthday for Me (Albert Whitman, Sept. 2013), How to Be a Pirate (Little Golden Books, 1/14), Let's Build! (spring 2014) and Books for Me! (Fall 2014), both with Amazon Children's Publishing. We're Getting a Pet will publish with Little Golden Books, spring 2015.
Her articles and essays have appeared in Writer's Digest, Bay Area Parent Magazine, Education.com, Travelmuse.com, and Circle of Moms. She is currently also reviewing picture books for Daily Candy Kids. Some of her copywriting/marketing consulting clients include eBay, Redbeacon.com, Clover by Clover, Hotel Tonight, and Tiny Treks.
In both 2007 and 2008 Fliess received honors from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Barbara Karlin Grant for two of her manuscripts (which went on to sell).
She lives in Northern California with her husband, two sons, a Lab named Teddy and an alligator lizard that's taken up residence in her garage. In her not-so-spare time she loves to travel with her family and volunteer at her kids’ school.
