Bio:
EMMA WALTON HAMILTON is a best-selling children’s book author, editor and arts educator. She has co-authored over 20 books for children and young adults, six of which have been on the NY Times Bestseller list, and serves Editorial Director of the Julie Andrews Collection publishing program, where she has shepherded dozens of children's books from idea to publication.
Emma is also the Director of Stony Brook Southampton's annual Children's Literature Conference, as well as Executive Director of YAWP - the Young American Writers Project - an inter-disciplinary writing program for middle and high school students on Long Island. In addition, she works as a freelance children's book editor, providing manuscript evaluations and line-editing services for aspiring and established children's book authors, and is the creator and host of the "Children's Book Hub" online writer's salon (http://childrensbookhub.com) and "Just Write for Kids!" (http://www.justwriteforkids.com), a home-study course for aspiring children's book authors.
Emma is an active arts and literacy advocate, speaking to groups across the country on the value of, and synergy between, both issues. Her award-winning book RAISING BOOKWORMS: Getting Kids Reading for Pleasure and Empowerment was an Amazon #1 bestseller in the literacy category.
