Bio:
In March, 2010 I finished writing my first novel, a young adult coming-of-age story. In May, 2010 I graduated from Hollins University with an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults. I am now focusing my energy on revising and polishing the manuscript and getting it ready to present to agents.
In the fall of 2012 my first children's book was published: "Animal BFFs" by Scholastic. This is a nonfiction book for children ages 4-7 and gives brief stories (with photographs) of unique animal pairs from around the globe. A very fun project!
I earned a BA in Religious Studies and History from the University of Arizona and have also completed graduate work in the field of Women’s Studies. My work experience includes working at bookstores, grant writing, and teaching. I also review books for Children’s Literature Database (picture book through novels). In my spare time I compete in the sport of triathlon. And if there is any time after that, I squeeze in a yoga class.
I live in Tucson, Arizona.
