Bio:
Clifton is a naturalists and writer, working with youth and families, helping them to enjoy and appreciate nature and the outdoors. Clifton and his wife Jackie volunteer and work through Johnson County Parks, Olathe Parks, and youth groups including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Campfire and others. Having taught sailing to youth for 30 years, in 2006, they started a new youth sailing program through Olathe Parks. The program culminates in the youth and parents using their sailing skills to undertake a treasure hunt to find hidden pirate cave, and Treasure Island.
Clifton & Jackie were awarded the Olathe Community Pride award in 2009 for their work.
Clifton is working on MG and picture book projects, aimed at enticing youth outdoors, away from computers and television.
Clifton & Jackie are hosts to a number of representatives of the animal world, lead by their ambassadors to the rainforests, Captain Flint, a Blue & Gold macaw parrot, and Gentry, a pionus parrot. Captain and Gentry join Clifton & Jackie outdoors with their work with families.
