Bio:
My nonfiction articles have appeared in FACES, ODYSSEY, and APPLESEEDS--and my poetry and short prose in many literary journals. My degrees are in Geology, but I'm interested in a wide spectrum of science and art.
I am honing a variety of PB manuscripts and am also working on a late MG/early YA novel.
My picture book manuscript "The Crane Girl" received a Letter of Commendation from SCBWI's 2010 Barbara Karlin Grant committee. The story is a retold version of the Japanese folktale about a crane who takes human form out of love for the person who saved her life. Integral to my retelling are haiku in the voices of each of the characters.
