Bio:
Sera Rivers is a freelance writer for thalo magazine, a Grumbacher publication. She will receive her Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Children from Simmons College in May 2013. She is also an active member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Her recent publications include “Visual Storyboarding: From Imagination to Tangibility” (thalo, January 2013) and “The Animated Dan Yaccarino” (thalo, October 2012). Her interests include writing young adult novels that incorporate historical figures/events into current societal issues such as the increasing misdiagnoses of mental illness in children. She is currently writing a YA horror novel that comments on the rapid decline of humanization due to the isolating nature of advanced technology.
