Bio:
I am a Canadian writer and am thrilled that my first book was published by Little Pickle Press in December, 2012. Spaghetti is NOT a Finger Food and Other Life Lessons, is a humorous chapter book about an eight-year-old boy with Asperger's Syndrome. Connor struggles to make his way through a typical school day and in his attempt to be as cool as everyone else, he leaves a hilarious trail of destruction. But, by the end of the day, and despite many miscommunications and misunderstandings, Connor realizes that he is exactly as cool as he is supposed to be.
I recently was accepted as an apprentice into The Manitoba Writer's Guild, Sheldon Obermann Mentorship Program. Over the next 5 months I will be working with my mentor on my YA Romantic Comedy, Who Needs Romeo - A Tale of a Modern Day Juliet.
I returned to the SCBWI conference after a 4 year hiatus. At my first conference in 1997, I was excited to have a picture book manuscript nominated for The Sue Alexander Award.
