Bio:

Lori Degman is a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing by day and a picture book author by night, weekend and school holiday. Her picture book, 1 Zany Zoo, was the winner of the Cheerios New Author Contest and was released by Simon & Schuster in 2010, and is now in it's third printing.  1 Zany Zoo received the Gold-Level Mother’s Choice Award in 2012 and has been nominated for the 2012 - 2013 South Carolina Book Award.

Lori is currently the co-coordinator of the SCBWI-Illinois annual Spring Thaw Conference and is on the planning committee of SCBWI-Illinois’ annual Prairie Writer's Day Conference.  She has also been a speaker and guest author at a variety of literary events throughout Illinois.
