Bio:

Alva Sachs received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from the University of Illinois,and a Master's of Education degree from Northern Illinois University. After sixteen years of elementary school teaching, what was originally just a dream became reality, and in 2008, she published her first children’s book picture book,CIRCUS FEVER. In 2010,the Eric Hoffer Project awarded CIRCUS FEVER FINALIST for small press achievement.
In 2009, CIRCUS FEVER was recognized as a FINALIST in the children's hard cover fiction picture book by The National BEST BOOKS for 2009 and The National Indie Excellence Award picture book category. Creative Child Magazine awarded its 2009 SEAL OF EXCELLEnCE for children’s picture books,and in 2008, CIRCUS FEVER was a Hollywood Book Festival FINALIST.
Following the resounding success of her first book, Alva makes a big splash, that's a "paint splash," with her next kid's adventure, ON YOUR MARK,GET SET,GO!
2010 honors awarded to ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO! FINALIST by the National Indie Award for Excellence and recognition for FINALIST for the International Book Awards.Creative Child Magazine awarded its SEAL OF EXCELLENCE.
Encouraging reading and writing for children at a young age helps them to explore their own ideas and imagination. Creating stories for the sheer joy of reading was the catalyst for Alva to share her writing with children. Whether she is visiting schools, libraries, literacy festivals, or story time events the rewards have been heartwarming
