Bio:
Antonette Diorio publishes under her married name, Toni Brisland. She is a writer of children's books and poetry and won the CBCA NSW Branch Mentorship Competition in 2005 with a story about soccer and short-listed in the same competition in 2006 for a detective spoof.
Toni is on the SCBWI NSW Committee and is a Director of the Children's Book Council of Australia National Board as NSW Delegate. She is also active at CBCA Branch and Sub-branch leverl.
Her first book 'DemiChat and the Kent Street Mystery', a Sherlock Holmes spoof about a cat and dog detective team illustrated by Peter "Zane" Haywood, was published in July 2010 and is on both the NSW State & SA State Premier's Reading Challenge Lists for Years 5 to 6. It was released as an eBook in February 2013 with new digital illustrations by Cheryl Cruz. The sequel "DemiChat and the Lost Mummy" is to be published late 2013.
Toni lives with her husband and two Himalayan cats. Her only daughter lives and works in television in Los Angeles.
