Graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Journalism and have spent the last 33 years employed in various writing-related positions – newspaper reporter, corporate public affairs manager, advertising account representative, school district communications writer and freelance writer. Freelance assignments have included magazine articles, business proposals, advertising and newsletter copywriting, speech writing and articles for Tennessee historical association publications. In August 2012, Arcadia Publishing released a nonfiction book I wrote titled ST.CHARLES. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and am active in the Missouri chapter’s activities. I received a Letter of Merit for nonfiction in the SCBWI Work-In-Progress competition in 2008. In addition, I was an elementary school substitute teacher for nine years.
