Bio:
I have three school age children, a cat and a dog, run a business with my husband and write whenever possible. A few years back I returned to university for part time study as well. My short stories have appeared in the NZ School Journal and the Australian School Magazine. I have a short story in the collection of sporty stories, Dare and Double Dare (Random NZ, 2007), and another in the anthology Short (Black Dog Books, 2008), three more in the Pick 'n Mix anthologies 1 & 2 (Scholastic, 2010/2011) and another in Great Mates (Random, 2011). My first picture book Clever Moo was published by Scholastic NZ in 2006 and first junior novel Jack the Viking and another picture book The Were-Nana, also both with Scholastic NZ, came out in 2008. The Were-Nana was voted winner of the Children’s Choice Award at the 2009 NZ Post Children’s Book Awards. A picture book, The House That Went to Sea, and teen novel The Half Life of Ryan Davis, were both published in 2011 and another picture book Made With Love in 2012. My most recent book is a historical intermediate novel A Winter's Day in 1939 (Scholastic).
