Rebecca Hirsch

Bio:

Rebecca Hirsch writes about science, nature, wildlife, and places, and is the author of more than twenty books published by Scholastic, Enslow, The Child's World, and ABDO. Her work won the 2011 Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Anna Cross Giblin award, and her book, Arctic Tern Migration (The Child's World, 2012) is a Junior Library Guild Selection for series nonfiction. She holds a doctorate in molecular biology and worked as an American Cancer Society research fellow before becoming a writer. She lives in State College, Pennsylvania, with her husband, three daughters, one cat, and a small flock of chickens.
