She began to seriously pursue writing in 2001 after being given encouragement at her second Ohio State University Children’s Literature Conference. Since then she has written several short stories, published poems and was an educational writer for hire with TunTun Press Korea, but her main focus is writing for middle grade and young adult audiences. Stephanie new YA, The Forest Grim, came in second place in the Strange Chemistry Slush Pile Challenge, and The Life and Times of Cara Grimes has been long listed for SCBWI BI Undiscovered Voices 2012, which will be published through Applecore Books in 2013. Looking ahead, she plans to finish work on her new YA, Abandoned, and begin promoting her first published book.
