Stacy Innerst was born in Los Angeles and studied art and history at the University of New Mexico. His illustrations have appeared in media in the U.S. and abroad including the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Film Roman, MSNBC, New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, PBS, Harper Collins Book Publishers, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children’s Book Publishers. He’s received many awards for his work including recognition from American Illustration, the NY Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
He's won many prestigious awards for his picture books including a Parent's Choice Gold Medal, SLJ Best Book award, Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2011, a Bccb Blue Ribbon and a host of starred reviews.
He's always had some sort of drawing or painting implement in his hand and has made thousands of pictures on surfaces ranging from sidewalks to walls to trucks to canvas to paper. The most gratifying pictures he's made, however, are those that appear in books that are read by or to children.
Stacy lives with his family in Mount Lebanon, Pa.
