Bio:
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I used to draw on our patio with color chalk and my mom would hose it away in the evening. Inside the house, I’d draw on big chalkboards and erase when I needed more space. I think not saving my artwork was a good thing. It let me draw unselfconsciously, just for myself with no goal to please. When you have that, you have freedom.
Over the years I’ve worked as a janitor, a vet tech, a dog trainer, a security guard with a big red doberman, a graphic artist, a technical illustrator, a newspaper illustrator and a toy designer. Now I make my living as a children's book writer and illustrator. It’s nice to sit down.
