Chris and her husband live with a chocolate lab named Brandy in the beautiful Sierra foothills in California. With two grown children and three grandchildren, Chris turned her career of writing technical material—from manuals to magazine articles—into writing for children. She has written two picture books hoping to have them published and enjoys crafting nonfiction stories from real life. Her work in progress is a chapter book titled "How I Survived Third Grade."
"The Prisoner of Carrot Castle" is a children's book iPad app written by Chris and illustrated by Kate Jeong available on the Apple App Store now. Visit the website at www.purplecarrotbooks.com and click on the Apple badge to purchase.
Chris wrote "A Saving Transformation," an adult nonfiction story, which appears in The Dog Next Door by Revell Publishing (June, 2011).
In addition to SCBWI, Chris is a member of Inspire Christian Writers (ICW) in the Sacramento area where members benefit from critiques of their work. ICW offers an annual Write To Inspire Conference, regular workshops and skill-building critique groups.
