Bio:
Tim McCanna is a writer, musician and graphic designer. Along with SCBWI membership, he holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing for Musical Theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. In 2004, his sci-fi musical "The Cosmic Calamities of Henry Noodle" received critical acclaim at the New York International Fringe Festival. After moving to Denver, he founded and played accordion in the kid-friendly folk band The Hobo Nickels. His original songs have been featured on the popular blog sites “Kids’ Music that Rocks” and “Cool Mom Picks”. Writing songs for kids evolved into writing books for kids and he is currently pursuing his first published work. A member of the volunteer committee for the SCBWI San Francisco/South chapter, Tim recently designed the chapter's logo. He is also a co-founder and member of an online critique group, The Binders. Tim lives in Mountain View, California with his wife Trudi, son Nate, and daughter Sophie.
