Bio:
Donna Pellegata was born in Atlanta GA. She is a children's book illustrator, portrait maker and fArCiCaL fOlK aRt creator. She has created over 300 internationally-collected commissioned works and the illustrations for six children books.
Donna is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), The Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG) of NY, The Village Fine Arts Association and the Huron Valley Council for the Arts in Michigan. Her first illustrated picture book was published in 2008, “The Harp Mouse Chooses her Home: The Adventure Begins” written by Diane E Dunn,(Heart & Harp). “The Enchanted Tree of Crooked Lake” written by Rachel Longhurst, was published in 2010 (RAK Publishing). Her second illustrated book in the Harp Mouse series written by Diane E Dunn, "Harp Mouse Adventures- Book II" (Heart & Harp) was released just in time for the 2010 Milford Memories Art Festival, in Milford MI, where Donna was chosen as featured artist for her work from her fArCiCaL fOlK aRt series. She was chosen again as featured artist for Milford Memories 20th Anniversary celebration in 2011. Donna's latest illustrated book "How Haitians Play Basketball" (TorchRunner Press) written by Travis Mushett, was released in of September of 2011.
Donna owns ArtQwerks studio in Howell Mi and devotes full time to children’s book illustrating, people and pet portrait making and fArCiCaL fOlK aRt creating.
